I don’t often do product reviews, aber dieses Nostalgia BSET300 Breakfast Station, a 3-in-1 “Retro Series” cooking appliance is worthy of taking a bit of a tangent away from our main focus here. Natürlich, Ethnic Foods R Us is all about cooking recipes from ethnic cultures the world over. Einer der “ethnisch” cultures we cover is campfire and campsite cooking, which is very popular in the United States and Canada, as well as some European countries. Since that is the case, I felt it appropriate to present and review this handy little appliance.
Jetzt, don’t be misled – die Nostalgia BSET300 Breakfast Station is not specifically designed for camping trip cooking. It comes with a 3-prong electrical plug that requires a grounded electrical outlet that will provide at least 1500 watts of power. So it is primarily designed to be a convenient appliance in small home kitchens, or in mobile homes and RV’s with limited space. In those situations this little marvel can be a tremendous asset.
But if you are camping with a camper/trailer that has electrical power, oder …
… if you bring along with you a generator (the quiet kind, for camping courtesy and calm), die Nostalgia BSET300 Breakfast Station Retro Series 3-in-1 will be not only very handy, but lots of fun to have when it comes time to cook up some great meals.

I found this product to be everything it was touted to be and more. Not only does it cook eggs, speck, waffles, usw., you can make superb breakfasts with it, but I was also able to bake a 7″ pizza in the oven that came out great. The coffee maker brews 4 cups at a time. You can bake dinner rolls, Cupcakes, Kekse, and I’m sure much more. Auch, and this is not a performance feature, but it looks good – sleek, colorful, compact and neat with nice lines.
Jetzt, wohlgemerkt – this is a very simple, uncomplicated appliance. Do not expect the bells and whistles and fine features of an upscale oven, or a top of the line coffee maker, or a fancy grille. The grille has two heat level options: either on or off – no adjustments. The oven has just two heat settings, bei 400 Grad Fahrenheit, oder 300 Grad. On the negative side, the one design feature I did not like was the drip pan. It is smaller than the grille, so cleanup can be a bit of a greasy mess.
But all in all, die Nostalgia BSET300 Breakfast Station Retro Series 3-in-1 gets a solid 4 stars from me. I like it so much I bought a quiet camping generator so I can take it with me on rustic camping trips. I will still probably cook breakfasts over the open campfire most of the time. I love that morning ritual. Jedoch, those breakfasts take a long time to prepare, when you factor in having to build the fire and waiting for the wood to burn down to coals suitable for cooking on. Some days you need to be out of camp early, going sight seeing, hiking to a nearby nature attraction, driving to a guided tour that starts early in the morning, or whatever. In those instances, having this little baby with you will enable you to have breakfast and coffee ready to got in just a few minutes.
Oh – and the price? You won’t break the bank buying one of these puppies. I think it is a steal, considering all that it can do …
For just $149 (plus shipping) you can own one.

Awesome article!! As an outdoorsman I can definitely use something like this when its camp season. If you could add anything to it to improve it what would that be? It looks to be worth the money to purchase. It would be so cool if you added a video of you using one in the outdoors just for the heck of it. Good read.
Thank you. The only drawback is it is a bit tiresome to keep clean – at least the grease tray. And good idea, to add a video – thanks for the suggestion. 🙂
Hey… That a lovely looking oven and it looks reliable and handy when you’re on the road travel.
I was wondering, how do you clean the top part of the oven? Is it removable to be easily washed in the kitchen sink?
Overall, I like the convenienc of this oven and the price is not that bad either.
Cheers!
Thanks for the comment, Raymond. It is a very handy piece of equipment. The drip pan removes and, as I said, is messy to clean – one of the drawbacks. But the rest of the oven is easily cleaned by hand with soapy water and rinsing.
This Nostalgia BSET300 Breakfast Station looks and sounds like a nifty gadget in and out of the kitchen. I have not tried one before. In fact, this is the first time I’m seeing this. Would be interesting to see how it works but I don’t think I’ll be lugging this out of the house if I ever own one.
Hi Yvonne. Thanks for the comment. I imagine most people keep and use it in their kitchens, and just use it as a convenience appliance.
Looks like a mighty handy appliance to me. And the price is way cool. The cost of a generator is a bit daunting, though. I like rustic camping, but don’t use a camper. I like camping in a good old tent. Still, I might just bite the bullet and invest in a generator, given how cool this breakfast station sounds. Thanks for the thorough review.
Mark, you can get a decent, good quality and very quiet camping generator for less than $400. I have one, and it comes in very handy!
Well after this stellar review, I would have to say purchasing one would be a good idea. Thanks so much for this, Marv … my family lives in a nice, large home with a spacious, well equipped kitchen. But we also like camping and “roughing it” lol … so having one of these for some quick yummy breakfasts seems like a great idea!
Janet, for sure, adding the Breakfast Station to your camping experience will be wonderful. Thanks for the visit and comment. 🙂
I DO! I do have one, and just love it. We use it for quick cooking and it works great. Haven’t tried it on a camping trip yet, but we do have a camper trailer with electricity, so … woot woot!
Margo, lol … love your enthusiasm! For sure, take your Breakfast Station with you on your next camping trip!
